Default The children of Kate Amelia Wilson

My great-grandmother, Kate Amelia Wilson, was born in June 1883 in Kent, and married Joseph James Brown in Jun, 1904.

According to the 1911 census, they had the following children:

    Joseph, born 1904
    Violet, born 1908 (my grandmother)
    Bertram, born 1911.

The census also states four more children died during infancy.

I've recently contacted a cousin in England who informs me Kate had further children.

    Sybil Primrose
    Lilian Mary
    Malvina
    Irene

I think I've found Lilian (born Dec 1913) and Malvina H B (Dec 1916) both in Blean, Kent.

I can't find Sybil or Irene (maybe born in 1925).

My cousin then informed me that before these children were born, when Kate was a teenager, she had a son James (Jimmy).

Can anyone help find out more about Sybil, Irene and/or Jimmy?

    Thanks in advance,
    Steven.

    Hello

There is a gap in the birth years of the children 'found', have you thought the father may have served in WW1, in which case the children maybe listed on the military record....... there isn't sufficient information on the post to locate him!

James / Jimmy will be under WILSON?

Maybe you should ask where your cousin got the info from. Do you think they moved to another county? there are lots of James wilson's on the index but as to which one is him I do not know. do yo have a registration area that we could go on?

The 1911 census has the following:
Joseph James BROWN 1904 aged 7
You need to obtain the birth certificates for this child see posts #4 & #5 it could be that this is the child born in the 'teen years'
certificates cost £9.25 sterling from gro.gov.uk

I've recently contacted a cousin in England who informs me Kate had further children
Maybe you need to go back to the relative and ask further questions, as a family historian you are only interested in the correctness of a family tree, some of which you have been provided with is conjecture.......to be either proved or disapproved.....

The couple have been married 8 years and declare 8 children of which 4 are living yet only 3 are on the census! Is one with other family members?

if you haven't already acquired the marriage certificate, you may need ot purchase that to see how JJB/JJW birth fits in!
