I am researching my ancestor SAMUEL ELLIS b 1815 possibly Devon, England. He was married to CHARITY PALMER b 1814 England. They were married 19March 1838 in England. In 1839 they sailed to Australia eventually settling in South Australia.
Although I have information from 1839, I have not been able to locate either Samuel or Charity's parents or siblings.
Any help would be appreciated.

You will need a copy of the marriage certificate to enable you to find the father of Samuel ELLIS & Charity PALMER, this will state the vocation of each and hopefully an age on marriage
The marriage appears to have happened Jan / march 1838 at Plymouth Devon vol 9 page 438 ( although the search engine shows SE at 436 and CP at 438, I have checked the GRO records and 438 page is correct for both of them)
Although your ID does not stae a country, i have assumed you are Australia, certificates cost £9.25 sterling and can be obtained via this link
