    Exclamation Daniel Emmett

My great-great-great-great-grandfather was Daniel Emmett. I have no date or place or birth and no date or place of marriage. His wife was Ann(e) Harrison who had a son, George Harrison in 1802 in Thorpe Green Surrey.
As I said above I have found no record of a marriage for Daniel and Ann. Their children were (all born in Thorpe):
    Louisa Emmett 1807
    Eliza Emmett 1809
    Ann Emmett 1807-15
    Daniel Emmett 1813-1813
    Kitty Emmett 1814-15
    William Emmett 1816
    John Emmett 1818-92
    Phoebe Emmett 1820-25
    Charles Emmett 1821-95
    Thomas Emmett1825

I have looked extensively for Daniel Emmett's born in the last half of the 18th century and have found a few, but they cannot be my Daniel because they already have a record of a family. I have also found a number outside of Surrey but i have no way of knowing if one of these did end up moving to Surrey. I have been able to find Daniel Emmett's in Cornwall, Hertfordshire and Yorkshire suggesting that the name is further spread than I originally thought it was. Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hello

    George HARRISON
    Ann EMMETT b 1785
    Thomas EMMETT

are all together on the 1841 census H107 1074/13 page 5

There are 11 pages that make up this book with quite a few EMMETT's recorded in it, som eyou do not show as being siblings, but may be th extended EMMETT family

I think you starting point needs to be the Parish register entry for the baptism of George HARRISON bp 25/12/1802 Thorp s/o Ann HARRISON

It could well be that the records you need have not been digitalised yet!

some of the childrens baptisms are on familyorg but simply have father daniel emmett and mother ann. so no real help. similarly george harrison appears with mother anne. i suspect OP has all these. so unless actual parish records have more info it is difficult.

so unless actual parish records have more info
The entry in the Familysearch is VERY basic information, I think that the best example i can give is the following and is on this site under ANN CRAVEN

    Familysearch.org has......Ann d/ of William CRAVEN & Sarah SINKER bp 19/08/1833
(actual reading is LINKER) members can check this out!

The Parish Register ( not to be confuised with Bishops Transcripts, BT's which are brief copy's of the original) held at Cheshire record Office has:

    Ann d/oWilliam CRAVEN & Sarah SINKER ( illeg d/o) bp 19/08/1833

What did we learn, Ann was born pre 1832 i.e before her mother Sarah SINKER married William CRAVEN 20/08/1832, and not as suggested by the LDS site 1833! It also gives William's employment and where they were living at the time!
This in turn solved the problem of why 20 years later the marriage of Ann CRAVEN couldn't be found, it was under the name of SINKER......

The original source should be checked everytime

Familysearch has not completed the digitalisation of all the church records, and years ago illeg /baseborn were not included.......

Just thought, you will need to look at the parish records to find the marriage and also the death of Daniel EMMETT
