    are ages right for John? he should be 23, and 13, and 3 for 61,51, and 41 census'

    Hi i have had a look butonly found there was one in born Gloucester so he would have been 16 and one born in Totenham adged 14.

    The 1861 stated him born in Hayes depends if you think this is right - he was with the right family though. Census records can vary according to when the birthday was. ie it it was the day before or after the census you will get variations either side. So this can add up as you move down the census.Perhaps his Birth record will reveal the truth?

    Hi Dave - I had a look at 1838 BMD I found a birth for
    JOHN KING BORN SHOREDITCH 1838 IN THE JULIY TO SEPT REGISTER VOL 2 PAGE 330
