1901 census-another pair of eyes needed please!

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me find Noah Perkins b. 1858+/- 1yr on the 1901 census please? I've been looking for ages and I haven't been able to find him.

I have him on 1861, 1871 and 1881 Wales census with his parents John and Mary. On all of these it is stated he was born in Glamorgan(shire).

In 1891 he is with his wife, Sarah (also known as Sarah Ann). Here he states he was born in Hirwain, Glamorgan. Sarah was born c. 1868 in Llanelly, Carmarthenshire. Also on the census is their daughter Mary H (Hannah), born c. 1888.

I have Mary Hannah in 1901 visiting another family, but I can find no sign of Noah or Sarah Ann. I believe they had another daughter named Sarah Ann (birth unknown) and a son called Ioan born c. 1900. I've even searched for Ioan under 'Joan' as I know the I/J transcription error is quite common.

I have found Sarah Ann (snr) on the 1881 Wales census before she was married. Here her birth is stated as c. 1864.

I don't think Noah or Sarah Ann are deceased by 1901, as I've carried out a search of a later census and believe I have found them, although Noah's birth is stated as c. 1856. I can't be sure though as I've only searched and not viewed.

Any help to find Noah, Sarah Ann and the other 2 children would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to be a pain but when I start a search I always like to start from the info available! I have found Noah on 1881 and Noah, Sarah and Mary H on the 1891 cencus (RG12 4463 62 13, for those who want it). However, I have not found Mary H (Hannah) on the 1901 cencus as yet - would you mind posting the ref for this please.

Have you got any marriage or birth certs? Yo said that you "believe" they had another two children ie Ioan and (c1900) and Sarah A - is this from what you have seen on the 1911 cencus? I have search for Ioan without success.

Bye the bye, Ioan is the Welsh equivalent of John as Iain is the Scottish equivalent of John.

well cant find him in 1901 yet

using ge*** 1911 which gives birthplaces lead to noah perkins born 1856 glyn neath living in llanelly
using other free 1911 inexes leads to this family living with noah

I was very excited when I cam accross this one! I also think it fits too closely to discard. Also found:

Haven't found Hannah on 1901, that was mentioned. Wondering what relationship she is the family she is in. Will have another search.

Is this Mary Hannah in 1901 that you mentioned?

She is born 1889 and living with a family of Bevan's and also older Perkins ie 87 and 47 that could be older relatives. Noah states he was born Glamorgan on 1891.

Yes, that is the Mary Hannah with the Bevans in 1901, with her grandfather John and uncle Evan. I too found that 1901 entry, Welshlady-I'm in two minds about it as Noah had a brother, Ioan b. 1878, which seems to fit Iwan snr! I have been told that Sarah Ann jnr went on to marry and live in Derbyshire, so I know she must be on the 1901 census. The 1911 looks like the one I found, but they're saying 'Joan' is female!?!

Have you looked at the actual census or the info on the front cover, perhaps YOU can post the details, it is look ups we are not permitted to do
