    Exclamation George William Bush

I am at a stand still on this issue:

George William Bush DOB 1835?, He married Clara Emma Hepworth( my great granmother) on 17/3/1883 at Whitechapel Registery Office. I have obtained the marriage cert and info states his age makes born 1835 and listed as Master Mariner. His Father is listed as George William Bush Commander Royal Navy - deceased. I can not find any more records for both George's.

Goerge junior and Clara Emma emigrated to New Zealand 31/12/1887 and to confuss matters a Maude Mary Bush was on the passenger list with them listed as George's daughter. Any help would be super.

    Speculatively

I found this reference on books.gooogle.co.uk

Obit Nov 2 At Ryde IW aged 75 retired Commander William Bush RN 1830 extracted from
    The gentleman's magazine Vol 10 1838

Can you give more inforamtion about the daughter Maud Mary BUSH, also does the marriage certificate suggest that GWB was a widower on marriage?

    Hi Elsabels

Yes the link you placed was me from a previous post and I reposted in the hope we would find something. The Commander Bush obit you found doesnt fit as he would have been 73 when George jnr was born. Mary Maud was 17 on shipping list in 1887. George was listed as widower on marriage cert. I think I will admit defeat at last after a long search, some of the previous info fits but cant be sure, so time to put this to rest. Thankyou to all that have spent time researching for me.

    Regards

this looks like the birth of maud
Name:Maud Mary BushYear of Registration:1879Quarter of Registration:Jul-Aug-SepDistrict:IslingtonCounty:Greater London, London, MiddlesexVolume:1bPage:388

unfortunately there is a maud born similar time so need to be careful but at least we know your maud would only appear in 1881 census and not after that
    Name:Maud BushYear of Registration:1879Quarter of Registration:Apr-May-JunDistrict:Islington

it might be worth a try at the brith cert of maud for any more clues it might give.

    Hi welshlady

Thanks for your help, I will order a birth cert which due to living in New Zealand will take 10 days to get here.

    Hi Welshlady

Sorry your post didnt sink in as the brain is trying to keep track of two family lines at the same time. our Maud was listed as 17 years old on passenger list in 1887 so would have been born 1860. I may still order cert as that DOB would tie in with the age on her NZ marriage.
Why are our ancestors so complicated.
