This is such a great idea, not just to get help, but to help others too!
I'm a little stuck with finding enough information about my husband's great grandfather, so that I am able to progress my research - quite embarassing really, as I have progressed all other branches of our combined family trees to 1600's and 1700s - I am really stuck on this one and have run out of ideas.
The gentleman in question is Robert Mitchell who married a lady called Jane Corbett. Based on the IGI/LDS site it is possible that Robert was actually of Italian descent and Jane was actually of French descent, but I can't be sure whether or not this is correct. I can't find the couple in Census Records either and I really have tried every which way.
The only firm information I have is from a birth certificate - my husband's grandfather John Samuel Mitchell was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire on 29 Dec 1866 at 1 Betholom Row. His father is shown as Robert Mitchell, Lock Smith (Master) and his mother is shown as Jane Mitchell, nee Corbett.
Please help me if you can!
