From dates and things I think James's father was probably a george who was married to a martha(no maiden name) and think georges father in turn was another james.
Teasdale confirms family for me Richard's brother was Robert Teasdale Tate
If you get the Marriage cert you will find the fathers:

thanks noggin, the terrington parish records are available online, up to early 1800's so I may get some joy from there. There were Tates in Terrington back to at least 1600
IGI implies that the1881 census refers to pauper asylum for Richard - anyone any information on that
