Hi Charles-i had a look for chaps with your name who were on their own - started in Manchester and found this one ... do you have anything to tie to it

have a look on ( ******) for service records -he may have had medals in which case his name will be recorded as the recipient and you can obtain copies of his service records

You appear to have quite a few details already re date of birth, date of death for Charles Clarke, his fathers place of birth/name. Can you tell us, please, how much of this this information is through family discussion or supported by documentation?

You say you have your Grandfathers marriage certificate so please can you let us know where he was living at the time, his wifes name and both their dates of birth. Also any other info ie occupations, both parents full names and both parents occupations will be really helpful in tracking them. Also, where did they maryy? Once we have this information we can do our best to help you trace them!

Presumably your Grandfather emmigrated to the USA at some point - do you know what date and how he went over?

Also, you said you have found your Granfather on the 1911 cencus. As we can't all access this, please let us know details of who he was living with - spouse, kids, places and dates of birth, occupations etc. This will also help us in tracking back. Thank you!
