    Exclamation Owen Kelly

Owen Kelly born approx Aug? 1841 according to Army records He was born in Annagh Co Cavan served in 10th foot [later the Lincolnshire Regt] from 1858-1882 married Ann Mcguire sometime. Cannot find records anywhere England or Ireland . First child born 1874 so I am assuming it was from around that time. He served abroad a lot of the time and returned to England 1872 and was stationed at Chatham, Aldershot, Dover Billericiay{Essex} before returning to Lincoln. After discharge he returned to Ireland between 1882/83 but had returned to Lincoln by 1885 where his youngest son was born His discharge address was given as Redhills. There is a Redhills in Co Cavan - but to this date I have no birth or marriage records for him or his wife. I do have their death certs Owen died 1897 and Ann 1919 in Lincoln [lincolnshire]Their 3rd daughter Mary was also born in Ireland in 1883 no birth record for her either. I have had some Irish research done - they found nothing. . Owen's regt no was 208 2nd Batallion, and his Chelsea pensioner no is given as 94793, he apparently received a small pension. I have been told the national archive do not hold these mumbers. I would very much appreciate help/advice etc on this very solid wall. I fear it may be an impossible task = but you never know.

Hi & thanks for your reply. He is on the 1881 census transcribed as Oliver Kelly at Lincoln also on the 1891 census as Owen also at Lincoln died in 1897
    siblings
    Kathleen 1874 Chatham
    John 1875 Aldershot
    James 1876 Dover Hants
    Patrick 1878 Billericiay ESsex
    Owen 1880 Lincoln
    Margaret 1881 Lincoln
    Mary 1882/3 Ireland somewhere!
    Arthur 1885 Lincoln

I have never found a Marriage cert either for Ireland or this country. Though I do have death certs for him and His wife . Mary was my Grandmother I have never managed to find a birth cert for her. I have her marriage cert. I know he transferred fromThe Cavan Militia to the 10th foot. Once again a very common Name!

Many thanks for the info. I did get this from someone who went to TNA and looked, however it is all very much appreciated as quite possibly something new may crop up. However no pension details I was told TNA did not have the details of his pension no 94793 .
