Thread: Jacob Wild

This is the earliest I have managed to get :-

Jacob Wild (b 1765, d 05 April 1843) = Mary Walker at Bingley Parish Church, West Yorkshire , England (witnesses were John Walker (I think Mary's father as child named after him) & Thomas Fowlds. From the parish record Mary and John Walker signed while Jacob made his mark on the 9th November 1789.

From census records Jacob and Mary were both born in Yorkshire. They married at Bingley but there is no record of Jacob being christened (nor Mary)
They had 5 children :-
Infant of - died 1795
Sarah Wild b. 1790 - d. 1828
Abraham Wild b. 1796 - d. 1816
John Walker Wild b. 1801 - d. 1871 (whom I am decended from)
Joseph Wild b 1807

The local history society has suggested that the Wilds and the Walkers might have moved from Otley, West Yorkshire as records in Bingley have drawn a blank, however I have been unable to progress my research further.

Have you been in touch with the other tree owners who have trees on the same site you have?

I presume it is the Bradford FHS to which you refer! As far as i know this is the society that would cover Bingley.

thanks for the hint. I've got so far with the help of Keighley FHS but the Wilds in Bingley (being christened anyway) are from a different family line prior to these dates. Re. connecting with other trees - I don't have a current subscription so access and contact is limited.
