ok here's one of several of my brick walls,lol. John Riddle b c 1740 Dorset? married to Mary ? c1740, children John and Mary have followed John all the way down to my Mum,lol but going up I am stuck with John senior as far as I aware he was born in dorset altough family rumour is they came down south from Scotland but I have found no evidence of this john Junior married Jane Burgess and he was born in Winter bourne St Martin Dorset, England. any help would be brill as I have been stuck on this one for four years

According to the 1841 census John was born c 1677 and Jane 1776. This could fit:
