Hi,
I did an address search in 1881 for Whitefield Rd, I checked house numbers from 27-40 but absolutely no Lovetts or any butchers either! There was a James Tooke at no. 30 and he was a painter.
In 1891 census - same address - there was a Thomas Ford - also a painter!
I think we could do with a little more info please if you have anything else to go on. Full name and dob etc.
Sorry I couldn't find anything but I tried.
Ellie.
Hi Hritchie.
I don't know that they will be of any use, but here are the butchers listed on Whitefield Road in Kelly's 1881 Liverpool Directory:-
Latham, William at Number 101
Bollans, Robert at Number 107
Hubbard, Robert at Number 115
ETA - In the same directory there was also a Charles Lovett, Pork Butcher, Stalls 8 and 9, St John's Market, Liverpool, and a Charlotte Love, Pork Butcher at 191 Vauxhall Road, Liverpool.

My 'relative' is the house painter, Tom Ford (b 1842) in the 1891 census. His 'wife' was Elizabeth Lovett (b 1841, Roby/HuntsCross/Halewood, Liverpool no sign of any marriage). The family memory is that she inherited the house in Whitefield Street from a butcher. I can't find anyone that matches Elizabeth and there are a lot of Thomas Ford's. The '' are because my g Grandfather Henry Ford was adopted by this couple. Henry's birth mother was Esther Walker (b1852, Manchester also went by the name Crosby and Phillips), no father was listed on the birth certificate. I'm scratching around, trying to find a way forward in my research and I'm thinking that Esther was somehow related to the Ford's or Lovett's.
Thanks for the Charles link - I'll see if this leads anywhere
PS my uncle has some old notes which lists a Lovett living at 30, Whitefield Street in the 1870s (sometime). He noted Gore's as a reference. Can anyone do a lookup and see if he was correct ?

Maybe you need to take one step at a time, is it supposition that the butcher was LOVETT? and how did you come to the conclusion that maybe Elizabeth was a LOVETT.....
There is a comment about Charles, presumably a member has pm'd this to you....not sure this is correct on the basis Thomas was b 1834
