My grandfather's oldest sister, Antonija Lenassi, was born May 1866 in Smihel pod Nanosom, Slovenia. At Easter in the year 1896 she went to church and then disappeared. In the church record, next to her name, are the words, "V Ameriki" - which mean gone to America. But all subsequent searches in the USA have come up with no trace of her. My grandfather, another sister, and a brother all came to the USA and settled in Meadowlands, Pennsylvania by 1910. No sign of Antonija. On my grandmother's death certificate in 1919, the informer is listed as "Tony Lenassi" and there are no Tony Lenassi's in the family. Did she marry and her name changed? Did she go to South America? What happened to Antonija? All information greatly appreciated!
