    Hello

    marriage:

    David C THOMAS* = Florence ME WATTS q3 1931 Haverfordshire 11a 2784#

    Florence May WATTS q1 1907 ( birth reg for Dec 1906) Pontypridd 11a 502

    William Merritt WATTS = Elizabeth Ann THOMAS q2 1906 Pontypridd 11A 1038#

    William MERRITT WATTS b Q1 1877 Haverfordwest 11a 974

    * Do you know what the C stands for, Charles/Cyril / Clifford?

    # As THOMAS is a common surname, I think you will need ot purchase the marriage cwertificates so you pick up the correct THOMAS family in each case

There are 3 potential William WATTS b 1877 Pembrokeshire, at this stage it is difficult to esatblish which one would be your ancestor...hence the need for a marriage , similar applies to David C THOMAS and will apply to Elizabeth THOMAS
Certificates can be ordered from gro.gov.uk

Hi thank you for your time .... David John Thomas is the name of my Grandfather as shown on my Mam and Dads Marriage Certificate

As THOMAS is a common surname, I think you will need ot purchase the marriage cwertificates so you pick up the correct THOMAS family in each case
you are right both the Thomas and Watts Families do seem difficult as both are very common names in Wales ... which is why i've hit so many brickwalls

    Sorry

    Best Regards Ron

hi ...I'm searching for a relative....william merritt watts...orginating in pembrokeshire (llanryan) and went to "Nebraska...in a covered Wagon", eventually returning, after a death,
to live in swansea - possibly running/owning a pub...does he belong to anyone out there? I hope the family story is true....

    Hello alyf,

    Welcome to Ancestry Aid.

Please can you give more information about your ancestor? Was 'your' William Merritt Watts born abt, 1877, and therefore the same William of whom Serveta was enquiring?

Do you know approximately when William left for Nebraska, and when he returned to Wales? Any extra info you can provide may help us to help you.

Have you found William on census returns, and do you know who his parents' were?

Hi, I believe so.....I hope so.....
born 1877 to thomas ebenezer watts and pheobe francis watts......my great grandmother would have been his sister. I don't know anymore about Nebraska- other than someone died out there either a wife or daughter - may be of scarlet fever...it was a family story. I believe he returned to swansea, maybe to own or run a pub
