    Exclamation Joseph Joyner

Hi, I have come to a complete dead end on the following. I have a Joseph Joyner, married to a Sarah Ludlow (widow) in St Mary the Virgin Church,Childs Wickham, Gloucester 19.9.1787. I have their children and descendants, but I am completely stumped as to how to find out Josephs parents. They are not on the marriage record. I have 2 possibles, a Thomas Joyner and Frances Johnson, from Westbury on Trym, Gloucester and also a Samuel Joyner and Sarah Baldwyn, from Moreton in Marsh. Gloucester. The latter seemingly the most likely, as they live nearer Childs Wickham, but neither couple from Childs Wickham. Both the couples have sons called Joseph and Thomas, which doesnt help matters either. Has anyone else got this family or can anyone please point me in the direction of how to confirm Josephs parents. Thank you.

    Hello Gillian

Firstly I think you need ot try to establish John JOYNERS date of death the wentry usually carries an age, then who are the witnesses, one is likely to be the 'churchwarden' look at others on the page.

Check with the local RO to see whether all the parishes in Gloucester have been digitalised by the LDS, the familysearch site should only be used ofr guidance, always refer to the original documentation.

This is the marriage between Samuel and Sarah plus their children. This might help if you know Joseph's sibblings. I found a marriage for a Thomas and Francis Brain in 1761 but could not find any children.
