Charles Kite

Hello everyone,
For years now I've been hitting a brick wall when it comes to the Charles Kite that I've been trying to tie back to England. Below is the information I have on Charles:

Charles Kite B:1816 in England (per the 1850 Census for Cape Girardeau, MO)
I did find a record for a Charles Milton Kite that was born 5/29/1816 in Folkestone, Kent, England. However, after further research I've determined that this is most likely not my Charles Kite as the Charles Kite in Folkestone was still there living there after my Charles Kite died (1/18/1858 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri).

I do know that he had to come to the US sometime before 10/18/1846 since he was married on that date in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at that time. I've checked Immigration and Naturalization records and have found nothing regarding his arrival into the US. I also checked numerous passenger lists and ship records and still couldn't locate anything on him.

I've been trying to track Charles back to England for over 10yrs now and can't progress with my research until I have documentation to prove his arrival and birth in England.

If any information is located for my Charles Kite it would greatly be appreciated.

Aged 25, Charles Kite, Ag Lab NOT born in county
Aged 43 Hannah Maynard, Independent born in county
Aged 85 Hannah Willis,Independent born in county

Perhaps a lodger or perhaps an Aunt and Granny?

Of course he may not anything at all to do with you!!

Can't find him in 1851.

Before I search any further is this the Charles you refer to ?/

1850 United States Federal Census
Name: Charles Kite Age: 35 Estimated birth year: abt 1815
Birth Place: England Gender: Male
Home in 1850 (City,County,State): District 14, Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Family Number: 968
Charles Kite 35 Mary Ann Kite 30
Richard W Kite 3 Steven Kite 1

This is the only other Charles I can find around 1815 but there could be others. Do you have a marraige cert and does that list his fathers name. Have you looked for other Kite families in the same area ?

hI- There is also a Charles Kite born in the county of Gloucster born 1815 living in Dorington Evesham Stow on the Wold - for the 1841 census Agrig labourer. he isnt around on the 1851 census..
