Love family anyone have anyLOVE family members from LONDONDERRY.
Searching ancestors JOSEPH LOVE 1813 Londonderry, his father JOHN. Joseph moved to England appx 1838? Met and married his wife MARY ANN NORMAN she was 18ys he was 40 yrs.
They had quite a lot of children first living in Essex, England, moved to Colchester and Peterborough where they both died. Any info would be appreciated as we cannot find a birth cert. for Joseph
You won’t find a birth certificate for this ancestor as statutory recording of births only started in Ireland in 1864. You might find a baptism, but to do that you need to know his religion, and ideally his parish or townland in Ireland.
Usual sources for that information are censuses (check every one. Though it usually just says Ireland, sometimes an exact location is given), family bibles, wills, obituaries, gravestones & Poor Law applications.
I looked at the 1901 census and there were 158 Love entries for Co. Derry. The majority were probably Presbyterian but there were plenty of COI, RC & Brethren as well. So no clues there as to his religion. Perhaps you know.

Be aware that many Irish churches records do not go back as far as 1813.
