What a great Idea, and I am sure that you will all be undated with requests !
However here goes. I have posted about this before, so maybe it would help to look it up .
Edward Robertson (Bottlemaker) was born in South Leith, Scotland and baptised at St James' Episcopal Church, Constitution Street, Leith.
According to the records held at Reguister House in Edinburgh, it reads,

Register of Baptisms 1809-1846, Marriages, 1813-1836..

February 1821 EDWARD ROBERTSON, son of John Robertson and Margaret, his wife, was born
15/2/1821 and baptised 11th inst. It gives NO info on her surname....
I have no other information on his parents that can satisfy Edward's parents....
Edward married Elizabeth Glen.in 1845 and had three children..
I have all that info.
On Edward's eath Cert of 1900 South Leith, it states his parents as John Robertson and Margaret More.
.. But I cannot locate her with John.
SO... John Robertson and his wife Margaret is my stumbling block, and he is only my Gt Gt Grandfather !
I was told that Margaret More, was born 1793 Sth Leith, and died Sth Leith after 1881 @ 88 yrs. I cannot verify this.
There is a census 1971 of a Margaret Robertson aged 77 at 24 Kirkgate Sth Leith, which MIGHT be her ??
and I was given info of a death registration for a Joan Robertson BLACK.. who died 1922, whose parents were John Robertson (stonemason) and Margaret JACK..
All very bewildering to me !!
However. I know that you good people are very clued up and i guess if anyone can unravel this - You can !
