Thread: William Russell army records

Looking for army records for my wife's greatgrandad William Russell born 1869 Liverpool
lived in Salford in 1901 don't know which war he may have been in but i have photo of him in uniform taken about 1900ish.
his father was Richard Russell occ Sawyer from Scotland
any help would be greatful

1900 would be the 2nd Boer War, in South Africa. Have you looked for his records on Ancestry?

There are Boer war records on FMP (Find my Past) UK military records | WW1, WW2, soldiers, war medals | Findmypast.co.uk

I think you can buy some pay-per-view credits rather than take out a subscription.
