Hi all
Can anyone help me find out what became of a Richard Goldsmith who was born in 1831 in Ramsgate, he was imprisoned at the age of 12 for larcency and not learning his lesson was put on trial on 30 March 1848 age 17 for larcency, this time he was given 7 years transportation.
He was put onboard the Minden on the 21 July 1851 and arrived in Western Australia on the 14th October 1851.
He was convict no. 899 a shoe maker, i have found him on the freemantle prison site and he was given a conditional pardon on the 21 January 1854. From what i know that would mean he was not allowed to return to England, but i can find no trace of him.
Does anyone have access to any Australian records, ie, census, electoral roll, marrriage, deaths, that could possibly help tracing him.
Thank you
Sheila.
