Post Please help me find the next of Kin of a RAF Missing in Action Crew

    Hi

    Can anybody help.

I'm looking for relatives of the following people

Harold Emerson, c1923, who was born in Camberwell London,UK. His Parents were John Wilson and Eva Emerson

Hugh Campbell, c1912, born in Belfast Family Located & Contacted

Ieuan Anthony Morgon Family Located & Contacted

John H McDowall, born 1923, Prestwich Higher Compton Manchester
Parents: Doris Mabel Rhyddero and Norman Herbert McDowall
    They married in September 1919
Doris had two brothers Edward D & Thomas F
edward married Edith woodhead in 1923

All the above men perished in an air crash during WW2 in the far east, for the past 60years all the next of kin have known, is that they were killed in action, with no known grave.

But things have now changed and in 2009 the crash and grave site have now been located.

My interest in this case is that my uncle Robert McPherson was the tail gunner on this aircraft and his widow, and some brothers and sisters are still alive, along with six other crew members relatives that we have already found and contacted.

We are working with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, and the JCCC, who are visiting the site to report back to the MOD, with a view to hopefully, placing the remains into a known war cemetery, thus giving the surviving relatives peace of mind.

We already have all the service numbers of this crew, together with details of the mission, squadron they were with etc.

If anyone can help with this important research, I would be most grateful.

What a sad but fascinating story. I have sent you an email about a possible relative of John H McDowall.

    Hi

If you take a look at AA Groups 'Missing in Action' WW2, you can view images of the whole crew and the crash/grave site

Yes a sad story, hope the future generations appreciate the bravery of these people

    John H McDowall
RHYDDERO one-name.org/cgi-bin/search.cgi?find=307 there is a contact for the family, hopefully they can help, I think John McDOWALL was an only child, a possibility that mother died in Vale Royal Northwich Cheshire

Are MAnchester & Lancs FHS able to help mlfhs.org.uk/ or the Manchester Evening News which on Saturday has a Family request section

    Missing in Action Update

We have now established a connection to the kin of W/O Hugh Campbell in Belfast, and also a strong lead on the sister of Ieuan Anthony Morgan who
is still alive somewhere in Swansea, the bad weather over the last month has slowed progress somewhat.

    Best Regards - Ron
