    Default Sarah and Israel Hart

    Hi Folks,
I wonder if anyone can assist with a lookup in the UK census or any avenue you think might work.
Can anyone find Sarah Hart (nee Moses) on the 1841 census. She didn't die until 1846 so she should have been there somewhere.
Also I can't find her son Israel on the 1841 census, he didn't marry until 1844 so where was the two of them?
    Very best to all, Hawks

    Hi Hawks.

Do you have approximate birth years/possible locations for Sarah and Israel?

    Hi,

I found 2 Israel Hart's on the 1841 England census & 1 on the 1841 Wales census. The 1 from Wales doesn't appear to be married on the 1851. Out of the 2 remaining, the born born about 1811 Middlesex England looks promising, his civil parish is Christ Church Spitalfields Middlesex on the 1841 England census. There is also a Sarah Hart on the 1841 England census born about 1791 Middlesex, civil parish Christ Church Spitalfields with her is Charlotte Hart born about 1821. On the 1851 census there is an Israel born about 1816 Aldgate Middlesex, married to an Elizabeth, civil parish is St Botolph Aldgate. I don't know if this is the same Israel as in the 1841.

    Lisaw,
    Thank you for your efforts.
Firstly I'd say Wales is out. As most of the family lived in the Middlesex area and were members of the Great Synagogue of London. Another possible hook would be a family of Fishmongers. There are a more than a fair smattering of fishmongers in the family.

    Regards, Hawks

    Hello Hawkes

Hope your well, coming to the Quiz on 6th ?

There are quite a few Sarah HART who could be the correct person on the1841 census both in the Middlesex area and elsewhere....so difficult selecting the correct one! What more do you know about her death can you let us have the area and reference so we can pick up from there?

You state you know that Israel HART married in 1844 do you have the marriage certificate, this would include details of his age ,where he lived and his employment, together with his fathers name and work, these cost £9.50 / $15.50 to you ! from gro.co.uk. to help us in identifying him on the 1841 census

Do you know who he married or can you tell us a census ref you have found him on !

    The 1841 census readsH107 710 11
    Postmans? Court

HART Israel 30 Hatter born in county Y

Immediately above is the following family

    Joseph 20 general Dealer /Esther 20 & Sarah 8m MOSES

    Catch up again

    Hi to all,
Well, a Mate has been beavering away and believes the following adds to the little we have had to give.
Israel married to Elizabeth see the 1851 census< they were living at 3 Angel Court, Israel was a Fish Porter and with them is their daughter Esther 9yrs and in 1861 they were living at 20 Primrose court , Israel is now a widower and he is a retired Fishmonger, with him is his daughter Esther now 20, will have another look for the 1841 census with the Israel born c.1811 tonight as that sounds good. By the way the address where Israel died was 36 Houndsditch on the 7-7-1862.

Hope that helps and a great big thank you to all.
Elsbels, The site looks wonderful these days, very fresh.
    Regards, Hawks.

Since both your friend & I found the same Israel, you should maybe check out the Sarah & Charlotte Hart living together (1841 census) I mentioned in my above posting as mother to your Israel & maybe Charlotte is a sister.
