    Hi AllanNicholls,

These are my workings on your questions so far – I was hoping to use this information to find Elizabeth and Joseph together after 1848 to establish where Joseph died and how many children he had – - but sadly no luck so far.

Also although the marriage gives Elizabeth’s surname as Brittan – I think that it may be Brattan

    From IGI Pilot Project

He seems to stay with his mother’s family as he is with his uncle again in 1861

    1861 Census

Giving Eliza a birth date of around 1821 and it shows on the census that she was not born in the County of Yorkshire – following through her siblings it seems that Eliza was born in Barton-Upon-Humber in Lincolnshire

So I think that this is Eliza’s mother and father’s marriage from IGI Pilot Project

    Groom's Name: William Brattan
    Bride's Name: Martha Blanchard
    Marriage Date: 17 Aug 1813
    Marriage Place: Barton-Upon-Humber, Lincoln, England

And Elizabeth’s Christening - her siblings' christenings are also listed on IGI Pilot Project

    Name: Elizabeth Brattan
    Gender: Female
    Baptism/Christening Date: 02 Mar 1821
    Baptism/Christening Place: St. Peter's, Barton-upon-Humber, Lincoln, England
