Hello - here is my first brick wall request.......
- researching the WILKINSON/ASHLEY families of Yorkshire/Hull; I already have Daniel WILKINSON b.1866 Hull, d. 1937 Hull - 1901 census as cartman Hull and in 1920 shown as general carrier, Hull (source daughter's marriage certif.). He married Frances ASHLEY (b.c. 1873 Hull - ref 1911 census) in 1892 Sculcoates, Hull. They had 9 children. However I cannot get back to Daniel or Frances' parents - partly due to names being common in Yorks.
Daniel's father was possibly born in Enniskillen &/or Ireland c. 1835 - wild rumour but no proof. He was dead by 1881 I believe. Cannot find him on any early censuses in England. His wife may have been an Elizabeth L. ? b. Hull 1846 - guess from LDS possible matches.
Frances ASHLEY b.c. 1873 Hull (ref 1911 census) - possible parents John ASHLEY and Maria ? b.1851 Hull - a guess from 1881 census but no proof.
Can't find parents for Frances or appearance (for sure) on any previous censuses or her date of death.
Any help appreciated!
Here is my second brick wall - hope I'm allowed 2?
Robert CAMPBELL - born c. 1875/6 Ballynahinch, Co Down, N.Ireland - can't find birth. ( Parents John Campbell b. 1844 and Ellen McCarthy b. 1854 - both Co Down, N.Ireland.) Robert died 28 Dec 1939 Royal Victoria hospital, Belfast; was Inspector Of Cinemas, Belfast Corporation. Married - wife always known as 'Birdie' in the family so cannot find marriage details! Had 2 children - again cannot find. Too many Robert Campbells in census et.c but none fit the bill exactly (would be Protestant; some found are Catholic/wrong age, etc.) Also his sister Eva, born 21 Aug 1886 Ballynahinch, Co Down, N.Ireland - no further info on censuses, marriages, deaths or passenger info on ships - she just disappears! Again, any help much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Leona
