I would like help with my brick wall in finding a marriage, dates of birth/death for my GG Granddad & GG Grandma, Walter Albert Baker & Kathleen Hanson, respectively. The information I have is from my Granddad, Walter Albert Baker's birth certificate & his marriage certificate as follows:

name, surname and maiden surname of mother: Kathleen Hanson

When registered: 29th June 1916

Marriage certificate:
When married: 7th August 1939
Age: 23
Condition: Bachelor
Rank or profession: Commission Salesman
Residence at this time: 156a Victoria Road, Leeds 6
Fathers name & surname: Walter Albert Baker (deceased)
Rank or profession: Fishmonger

I have been told that his mother remarried and that is why he moved from London. Any help would be much appreciated!

is relevant to your search as the following probate record for your GG Grandad shows:-

"BAKER Walter Albert of 42 Old Ford-road Bethnal Green Middlesex died 1 August 1936 at Bethnal Green Hospital Cambridge-Road Bethnal Green Probate London 1 October to Kathleen Pearmain widow. Effects £1203 3s 7d"

So possibly your GG parents were unable to marry, as it does not say that Kathleen was Walter’s widow!!
