Thread: George Jones Born 1834 Kennington, Surrey

I am looking for the parents of George Jones born in 1834 Kennington, Surrey. They were Frederick Jones and his wife Susan. George enlisted with the Royal Military Train in 1852, married Martha Edwards on 8 feb 1857 at Bristol. He Deserted in Jan 1858; His daughter Emily was born in 1858 when his occupation was described as "Soldier in Rifle Brigade". In May 1860 he was accepted into the Hull Police Force, and he remained in Hull until he died 17 May 1883 in Sculcoates, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire. His father Frederick was variously described as a Mechanic at time of George's baptism/birth and an Accountant on George's first marriage certificate in 1857. At the time of George's 2nd marriage in 1875 he was described as a shop merchant, deceased.

I have not found Frederic and Susan in any records so far! Help!

Wow! Thanks so much for this - I did have the record of George's baptism in Kennington and had looked at so many Census records! This looks like a distinct possibility!
