Thread: Joseph Warren and Mary Edwards

I am trying to fine information on Joseph Warren and Mary Edwards. On one census Mary is listed with the surname HOOPER, I am not sure if that was her 2nd married name.
Joseph and Mary had 5 children Kate, Annie, Charles, William and Joseph. Charles is my Great Grandfather. Charles Warren, arrived in Australia about 1887, and was born 12-1-1872 in Grantham, England which was on his marriage and death certificate (but I have since found out that he was not born in Grantham as some kind person checked the records). Charles married Constance Lillie Baldwin b 10-10-1881 Southampton, Hampshire married in Australia on 14-2-1900, they had not met in England. There is a theory that Charles immigrated to Australia (age 15) because he could not get on with this stepfather. I am trying to find where Charles was born so I can order a birth certificate and also what happened to the siblings and his parents.

I am sorry, I posted this request as it was a 'new idea' to help break down brick walls. I had previously asked about this family some months ago and was not aware that I could not post it again on this forum.

I have not been able to find them. Family information says that Kate was born about 1868, Annie 1870, Charles 1871/72, William 1875 & Joseph 1880. I am assuming Joseph and Mary may have been born about 1840's. Mary Edwards was supposed to have been born in Windsor, Berkshire, England. Sorry not much help.

I've spent a couple of evenings looking at this. In the end, I searched for the family on the censuses without a surname.

I found the Isaacs family in Grantham, Lincolnshire. The children's names and ages generally tally up, as do the parents. I realise the name Warren doesn't sound anything like Isaacs, but don't dismiss it just yet, as I have more evidence!

Charles does not come up in searches beyond 1881!

Issacs - I will have to have a look.
Charles would not have been on a census for 1891 as he would have been in Australia. The family info says that both brothers went went to Canada and the girls stayed in England. I don't know if this helps.

Joseph Peasgood is down as a 'nurse child'. I've had a look and found a marriage of an Annie Isaac in 1891 in Grantham, to a John William Peasgood, so I am assuming Joseph is their son.

Thanks for that, I found where Charles ISAACS age 17 could have come to Queensland Australia as an immigrant on 'Waroonga' on 21-7-1888.
There is no record of a Charles Isaacs on the Aust Electoral Roll until 1937, but Charles WARREN was at Toowoomba in 1903 (which is where he lived) which seems it could be the same person.
Family information says that the brothers were killed in WWI ... I do not know if this is true or which brothers. How can I find out about UK WW1 deaths?
