I have an ancestress called Eliza Plume, her parents were Robert Plume and Eliza Taylor. Unfortunately I do not have accurate details about their births so going back beyond these names is difficult. While living in the UK I did find somepeople who matched their general ages, but was never confident to pursue them as there remained a couple of options for Eliza particularly.
So what I have is:
Eliza Ann Plume
Born London (sic) 1849
Died Lewisham Private Hospital, Wagga Wagga, NSW Australia 26/1/1938
She was possibly born in St Giles Parish ...
Her mother was Eliza Plume, nee Taylor whose date of birth is only an estimate at 1830, and she too is only shown as being born in London. She married Robert Plume, born London, England, around 1824.
The whole family turns up in 1851 census staying with relatives in Wandsworth (74 York Road) prior to their emigration to Australia aboard the Telegraph in 1858.
A note on my records suggests both Elizas were born in St Giles, and Robert in St James parish. But beyond them, I draw a blank.
Eliza Junior's husband is also a bit of a mystery man. He was born at sea en route to Australia and his parents apparently came from Hanover in Germany, but there is nothing else known about him. John Peter Myers, whose father was also John, was born in 1829. But I have no record of which ship he came out on (literally, in his case, lol).
So that is three mysteries that are causing me some angst. Please pick whichever sounds most fun for you to pursue as I know this is over the odds on the offer.
This is a great idea by the way as I have become so disheartened with this little conundrum that I have quite given up on this branch of my father's family ...
