Fred Roy, born between 1851 and 1856

What a fabulous idea!!

I'm having trouble locating any USA information for Fred Roy, born between 1851 and 1856 (his age varies on all his UK census returns. According to his marriage certificate he would have been born 1855 or 1856)
He states on his marriage certificate that his father was also Fred Roy with occupation Decorator.
He states on the census returns that he was from Baltimore USA, but doesn't give which state.
I can't find him prior to 1881 in the UK, so assume he was in the US.
I am also unable to find him on any passenger lists.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I searched from 1850/1860 and only came up with this one.
