Hello Jon. I would welcome help with my Brick Wall. My Ancestor. Thomas Tofft. Born 1747. Penkridge. Staffordshire.
I am trying to find out who His Parents were. All the Tofft. ( Toft ) as they became known down the years. Were Born in Penkridge Staffs.
The last Male Toft moved from there in the 1890. I have hit my head on this Brick Wall for nearly a year now. My cup would run"th over if I was the lucky
one to be picked out for the help. Thank You Joan
Found a few possibles for Thomas's father on IGI .........JOHN TUFT b 9 SEPT 1732 PENKRIDGE STAFFS and RICHARD TUFT B 8 APRIL 1733 PENKRIDGE, STAFFS
not sure if these are yours but a possibility , will search further

Hello Hazelnut. Thank you for researching my Brick Wall. I do not know who Thomas Born 1747 Married. I have found several Thomas's One Married a Ann Lewis another
a Francis Brown. Another one Married a Mary Bostock. All I really know is that the Son William Tofft or Toft Born 1773. My Gt G +3 Married a Mary Ann in 1815
and I know all the his Descendents. But His Parents and Grandparents are the baffling Puzzle. Does that make sense Thank you for helping Bronson 211
Theres a Thomas Toft c 11 may 1751 Leek, Stafford................father Thomas ,,,mother Mary found on familysearch.org
Was he a watchmaker, found uk and us directories 1680-1830 Thomas Tofft address Brick Kiln Street, Wolverhampton Occupation
Watch chain maker/ watch chain making source date 1784

How do you know your ancestor was born around 1747?
Was it on the strength of a marriage in 1768?

Hello Elsabels. Not a marriage. I was just back stepping from the Dates of the children He had. ,,,,,,,,,The First one was born in 1768. and William My Gt.Granddad+3
was born 1773 All Born In Penkridge. So I just presumed Thomas 1747? Was born there as well. Perhaps I am wrong with my Date of Birth for Thomas
I am still going through all records I can find. I have found most of the children with same names as the list I have
on IGA Pilot records. Dates of christenings But no William or Name of Mother Just Thomas as Father. Thank you for joining the search. Bronson
