Default JOHN PARKER 1841 Census England

I found a JOHN PARKER in the 1841 Census age 12yrs born Middlesex England.
He was living at Bancroft Hospital (which was a school) which was an Alm House which is given as the Enumeration District, Parish Stephney.
I think this may be my ancestor as I cannot find him anywhere else and he was not at FINSBURY with his parents (well I think there his parents).
Is there anymore info available on this school ? No info given on Census only names.
I think he was a ' boy ' crew member in 1845 but this is not definate.
In about 1849 he is said to have arrived in Australia but no record has been found of his entry to Australia.
I am told you need to know a ship name to find him on crew lists.
    All help appreciated from Australia

Hi Jeannie - heres something to start
Bancroft's Hospital, Mile End Road, was founded 1728, by F. Bancroft, who amassed a large fortune in the city. More than 100 boys were maintained and educated within the ages of 7 and 14. The appointment and control were in the Court of the Drapers' company, who present by rotation. Any poor boy between seven and 10 years of age was eligible for such presentation. The hospital maintained also 30 almsmen, who must have been freemen of the company.
Master and Chaplain, Rev Wm. Hunt, M.A.—Under Master, Mr. C. Laycock.—Matron, Mrs. Dinham.

Who do you think his parents might have been?

Where did he arrive and settle in Australia, and what was his occupation ?

Did he marry in Australia ?

Could he have been a convict, there were about 25 John Parkers sent out between 1838 / 58

Thank you for all your replies that is wonderful.
I am pretty sure his parents were Samuel Parker abt 9 June 1799, Nayland, Suffolk, County, and Sarah Jackson b.1797 Cavendish, Suffolk County
Re. the Convict reply I have been looking into that I have one on the "Bangalore" 1849 who I feel could be him.
I have obtained all the papers but there are not enough details to give me that final clue.
Do you think he may have gone from Bancrofts School in to a Seaman's apprentice ship or what ever they did
Info I have says 1845 John Parker aged 17yrs was reg as a Seaman No.26.486 b. London C. Middlesex 24 Nov 1828. First went to sea as a "Boy" , in the year 1844. he could not write. When unemployed resides at Spitafields Ticket issued 26 May 1845. ( I would have thought if he went to that school he would be able to write) ?

Yes he did marry in Australia.
I have all the info on his wife and children etc down to our latest children
But we have never been able to find his entry into Australia
Some say he may have paid his own way so it is not recorded.
My thought was that he was a crew member on a ship, maybe jumped ship ?
John Parkers (b1828) wife Susan Green (b.1843) arrived in Australia on the "Steadfast/Stedfast" in 1849 with her parents and brothers and sisters. Which we have the record of. She was only a child then. I thought he may have been a crew member and got to know the family on the voyage and met up with the family again later when she had grown up and he then married her. in 1858 he was 15 years older than her.
They were married in feb 1858. and had 13 children all still alive when there parents died in the 1900's
I have looked into the Convict records one 1849 "Bangalore" I obtained all the records but it just doesn't give me that final clue.

Thanks for your reply. John Parker was born in London, Middlesex 27 Nov 1828 his parents were Samuel Parker b.1799 and Sarah Jackson b.1797, m 1826 St Giles without Cripplegate they were both born in Suffolk
I had thought his father Samuel may have been a Sailor but I cannot be sure of that.
We cannot find any info of him coming to Australia some say he may have paid his own way so there is no record
I have looked into the Convicts there is one on the "Bangalore " 1849 that maybe fits the search but i cannot get the last clue to claim him.

Thank you I seen the 1851 entry you show.
I thought the same when I seen it.
That is why I looked for John Parker b.1828 alone in another search
According to the info I have he is said to have arrived in Australia c1849 that could be why he was not in 1851 Census
After that he seem to disappear until his marriage in 1858 Grafton, New South Wales Australia
He was not on the 1841 Census with his family but is that him at Bancrofts Hospital/school was he a naughty boy ?
