Thread: John Robson b 30 Sept 1799

Hi - What a great Idea this is, I have a couple of brick walls, I'll post the Schofield one later. So I would appreciate any help tracing my Robinson ancestors because over the years our name has changed between Robson, Robison and Robinson. My Gt x2 Grandfather John Robson b 30 Sept 1799 (All Saints, Newcastle On Tyne) married Elizabeth DAV(E)Y b 8 Jan 1802 in Woodbridge, Suffolk at All Saints on 16th June 1822. 5 of their Children were named Robinson, 3 as Robison (I confirmed this at Woodbridge). In the 1841 Census (as Robsons) they lived at Wall Knoll, All Saints with 6 of the children. I'm pretty sure that Johns parents were Thomas Robson b 1760 in Chollerton (a Tallow Handler) and Mary Moody (found on Latter Day Saints), but cannot get back any further than this - can anyone help?. I had a quick look on the latter days site. Found an entry for Thomas Robson's birth, which stated his spouse was Mary Moody.

I clicked on her name and this came up:

Mary Moody
Birth:1760 Of Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
Burial: 14 APR 1802 Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
Father: George Moody

Another entry gives Mary's birth as 1764.

Just to reiterate JOHN ROBSON Male Birth: 30 SEP 1799; his Parents were Father: THOMAS ROBSON and Mother: MARY MOODY. I have details of their whole family obtained at the archives in Woodhorn. But I have no definite details of Thomas Robson I have seen births on Latter Day Saints for 1760 and 1770 but cannot confirm either of them. This is where I am stuck!!
