William Appleton Nellist Born 1859 in Hull

One brick wall I have is my gt grandfather William Appleton Nellist born 1859 in Hull. He married my gt grandmother Betsy Woodall in Hull in 1883. My grandmother was born in 1887 in Hull. There is no trace of William after the marrriage in 1883. Can anyone shed a light on this 'black spot'?

1) What was William Appleton's employment on marriage?
2) Betsy Nellist showed herself as MArried on the 1891 census, did she remarry in 1892 to John HOLROYD? If so what was her declared status on the marriage certificate

these look possible, have you checked the certificates ?:

I cannot find Betsy before the wedding. Was Besty a shortened name, have you the got the marriage cert or her birth cert if so what was her fathers name.
