    Question Seaman Service Records????

Would anyone have easy access to the following please?

Records of the Admiralty, Naval Forces, Royal Marines, Coastguard, and related bodies
Series Admiralty: Royal Navy Registers of Seamen's Services

I am still trying to find my GG Grandad Alfred FLETCHER bn c1830, supposedly from Ireland (not proved), evidently jumped ship here in Nelson, New Zealand about 1850 and was married to Mary Ann LOVELL in 1854.

Any advice, info or resources gratefully received
    Many thanks, Glen

Records at the National Archives appear to start in 1853 CAT. Ref. ADM 188, so if he jumped ship in 1850 they are not likely to be of any use.

    Interesting background here -
