Martha Matilda Barnes Born in Nova Scotia in 1815

Thanks for the offer of help. Anything you can tell me about the parents of my great,great,great grandmother Martha Matilda Barnes (born in Nova Scotia in 1815) would be appreciated as I have hit a "brick wall" about her ancestors.

I know quite a bit about her from 1837 until hear death in 1901 but nothing about her parents or why she was born as a British Subject in Canada.

Anthing you can come up with would be much appreciated

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have no information other than that Martha was born in Halifax Nova Scotia circa1815

Presumably you have noted that Martha Matilda BARNES was a British subject from the Census returns,

Have you considered the possibility that her father may have been in the British Army?

The 41st Foot 1799 - 1815 and 9th Foot were there in 1802 - 1818 were in Nova Scotia

Were there any siblings and where were they born?
