    Hello

Firstly [QUOTE][Barbara Ayres 1733-1837QUOTE] Do we have an entry for the Guiness book of records?
I think you will find she was bp 06/01/1773 Basingstoke, the dau of SamuelEYRES & Mary

    Others found

EYRES Mary Anna bp 27/05/1770 Bramdean d/o Samuel EYRES & Mary
AIRS James 08/1/0775 s/o Samuel AIRS & Mary
AIRS Ann 15/08/1779 d/o Samuel AIRS & Mary Herriard
    Barbara
EYRES Mary bp 25/11/1781 High clere d/o Samuel EYRES & Mary
AYERS Samuel bp 07/09/1789 s/o Samuel AYERS & Mary at Froyle
AYRES George 1800 Hartley Witney ( member submitted)

I on finding the Examination, which I assume you found either at NationalArchives or the record Office, I think you are now in for a session of trawling the parish records at the local Record office....

There are several trees on the well known search site A******* none are any further back than the above and only show the one child Samuel

    Hello

Well you landed on your feet finding this, as you realise ittells you a lot about your family, and some researchers would have spent years trawling the records for 'titbits' such as this,

It is likely that ( and at this stage speculatively) that Mary wanted Parish Relief and this was the 'Churchwardens' recordings

based on this I will have a look around to see where else we can get info for your family

Tell me have your family any connections with the Hampshire Gypsies? The reason I ask is that there were some obscure/different forenames i found whilst looking for Ayres /Stanley

yes this side of my family were hampshire gypsies they were gypsies from my great great gran backwards, I got the dates wrong for barbara- mistyped. the link back from the marriage of george ayres and Rosanna pike is where I have not got documented evidence. I know georges fathers name was james. I have been told but not proven that his mum was Barbara and her parent was the intriguing mary stanley - I know nothing of the stanley part of the tree and need to solidify the link george - james+barbara

James Ayres who married Rosanna Pike, date? was the son of Barbara in the last post. Was she married at the time or single?

How do you know Barbara's mothers name was Mary Stanley ?

Yes Noggin It was me typing late at night!. Thanks elsabels Noggin has been invaluable in piecing other parts of my tree together. I have paper trailed to George and Rosanna - from there backwards I am guessing - I know Georges Dad was James Ayers (that is how it is spelt on marriage certificate of George) I have been 'told' his mother was Barbara and 'told' me her parents were Samuel Ayres and Mary Stanley. Now trying to track these families back understand Ayres is also Airs, Eyers, Ayers.
Thanks for any help you can give noggin and thanks elsabels
