Australian McPherson Family Trees

Hi

I'm having problems tracing birth details of my Grandfather, Robert Murdock Bannerman McPherson.
Born 11 January 1882 in Australia. He died in New York on 2 May 1943.
His parents were Robert McPherson and Mary Winne, details of which are becoming hard to find.

Robert M B McPherson married Norah Jeanette Browne (1896) in Southampton UK on 20 October 1920 and they had a total of nine children. He had spent most of his working life as a Merchant Seaman.

If anyone can help with these details, it would be appreciated.

A fairly detailed tree for Robert Murdock Bannerman McPherson can be found on A......y, but no birth record that I can see unfortunately.

Those two tree's - Manley & McPherson & Freshwater, Peto & Tanner are managed by my wife and I.

I have Robert's death cerificate from New York, that show the names of his parents but that's all unfortunatly. I'm sure I have read somewhere that they were both born in Australia?

I have some other quieries that I will post later

Did he live in America, or did he die on a visit, the census entries are searchable on line up to 1930. If we can find him on one it should tell us where he was born.

Does the death certificate give a place of death?

Hi

He was resident in New York for 30yrs, died in Bellevue Hospital N.Y. I have a copy of his death certificate.

On that it states his parents to be Robert McPherson and mary Winne both of whom were born in Australia.
These are the people I am looking for.

I have looked in both the NSW and Queensland BDM for Robert Murdoch Bannerman McPherson and cannot find a birth for him there. Also looked for a marriage for Robert McPherson and Mary Winnie and could not find them. There is a Robert Alexander McPherson b 1854 in Queensland parents Alexander McPherson and Agnes Humphries. In NSW there are a few. Robert A McPherson 1852 parents Alexander and Agnes H. Robert b 1841 parents John and Margaret. Robert M b 1859 Port Stephens parents Donald and Jane.

Can find nothing on Mary Winnie.

No sorry we dont have it, only his death certificate, which states he was born in australia, as were both his parents Robert McPherson and Mary Winne.

It's a difficult one this, I have been searching for ages, but just cannot get a connection.
I applied for Robert and hisson's birth certificate in this country, Not a problem with his son, but definatley no listing for his father, who they said could not have been born in this country (UK). So we can only rerly on his Death certificate as Australia being the place of birth for him and his parents.

All the citations I have of him as a merchant seaman on various ships, list him as Australian.

If you should finsd anything from other states, perhaps you can get back to me

Found nothing in Victoria, Tasmania or Western Australia. Sorry
