Hello. my brick wall is the LEWIN family. My GGG Grand father John LEWIN b.1802 Cotgrave, Notts married Mary Aslin in 1828, Gedling Notts. They lived in Cotgrave with their four children; John was a farmer and he died in 1858. I think John had a brother - William LEWIN b. 1805 married to Mary Thurman in 1828 - they had 10 children. I can't find the parents of John and William and this is causing a complete 'Full stop' for the LEWIN family for me..... AND.... I would like to know what happened to my Great Grandfather Samuel LEWIN b.1858 Cotgrave, married Annie Clara Walker in 1882 and they had three children. Samuel was a Saddle and Harness maker and in 1891 they were living in Heanor, Derbyshire. In 1901 Annie Clara and the children were in Mount st. Heanor and Samuel was boarding in Shoreham st Sheffield, Single! Annie Clara died in 1903 and is buried - alone - beside her brother and sister in Smalley churchyard, Derbyshire. Samuel didn't come back and the eldest child looked after the younger two boys (one of which was my Grandfather). I would love to know what happened to him and where he died. I was told he died around 1918 - but I haven't managed to find a record. I would LOVE to get some help with this.
Angie
