    Default Catholic Parish Records

My gt grandfather John Joseph Lewis wed my gt grandmother Penelope Jackson in 1891 in Curragh Camp KIldare at St Brigids R C Church he was a soldier in staffordshire regiment based in Curragh Camp at the time. He was Church of England and would have had to convert to Roman catholic to wed Penelope.
What info would the baptism/conversion record contain and would maybe it give his parents names?? Also would St Brigids be the only place i could obtain a copy of it???

I have a baptism cert from a Catholic church in Belfast. It gives date of birth, date of baptism, name of child, name of father, name of sponser, name of officiating priest, name of mother, date and place of confirmation.

Useful site for DMB in Ireland is Irish Family History Foundation: Home

Just a thought, why not pop along to your local Catholic Church and have a talk with the father there, after all he probably has contacts throughout the world, he will be able to explain what happens when someone converts and point you in the right direction.

TOO SHY, let me know and I'll ask Father Hugh, he is my husbands boss.
