in the 1871 cencus ann heyes( nee moorfield)age 25yrs born hindley,married to a richard heyes age 25yrs old born wigan, children margaret heyes age 2yrs, and elizabeth aged 7mths,can not find marriage details for ann and richard(her name was moofrield as i have one of her daughters birth certificates and it says formley moorfield,)any help on her parents as well would be help full,

Maybe they never married? Just because it mentions a Mothers maiden name on a birth certificate should be no indication that the two were ever married..

If Ann was born about 1845 I have found one marriage that could be a former marriage so needs some investigating..Ann would have been aged around 15 years at the time..Keep in mind for 1871 she has a daughter Margaret aged 2 years..Originally Posted by Astoria

I can find no marriage for Ashton to Hayes searching to 1875
Ann did name one of her daughters Margaret so its a possible that Ann also had the name of Margaret? Her Mother was also Margaret.

I cannot find a record for 1841 / 1851 / or beyind 1881
If we look at William MOOERFIELD, he is with his mother in 1871
1881 married to Louisa ( RG11 3774)
1891 /1901 married to Ann in the house hold are COWLEY children ( RG12 3058 RG 13 3561)

I would suggest obtainng a copy of the entry in the Parish Record, hopefully this should show the same father's surname as you would expect to find on Ann MOORFIELDS marriage entry.
