Hi Joan,

I'm searching for Clifford Mortimer, who only appears in 1904 when he married my grandmother, Adelaide Coe in Blackpool. He was 44 and she was 22. Cliffordd's father was Joseph Mortimer, a coach trimmer, who was deceased at the time of the wedding. According to the 1911 census, Clifford was born in London. However, I can find no trace of him. He died in 1930. His occupation was given as Decorative Artist (theatre and Cinema)

No, not in my Tree but I do love a challenge and have just spent a couple of hours digging.

I found his marriage to Adelaide on FreeBMD.
I found just one Clifford born and that was in Somerset in June qtr.1865
I then found 1871 census and the only Clifford was age 5 b.Somerset, Weston Zoyland.
However, his father was said to be James and not Joseph. There are a couple of older unmarried daughters with them and I think that your Clifford is the son of one of them.

I notice on A------y.co.uk there is a Mortimer family tree. Are you a member? it may be your tree - perhaps someone will do a look up or send a message for you. I couldn't find a birth registered for London either
