Brian , if you look at a site that is .gov.uk you will find under BMD lists for various BMD's that occur outside of the UK...these include Army / Consular returns etc.

Look at pilot.familysearch.org, there is an entry for a child born 1905c Berlin arriving on Ellis Island 1910 via Liverpool

Hi Brian, As Elsabels suggested above family search is a good place to look..I have found using the pilot search Theodor McLennan
port of departure Liverpool, port of arrival New York, date of arrival 31 Dec 1910..Age 5 years ....There is more to this on Family Search using the pilot search method..

A free registration site it has the entry papers for Theodor McLennan arriving in Ellis Island on 31/12/1910 aboard the Campania ( I think this is a Cunard Line ship!) his entry is on line 27 that's if you can read it!
