Leicestershire 1901 Look Up Please for George Dodd Bracegirdle and Spouse

Hi

Looking for the spouse of George Dodd Bracegirdle, he married in Mar qrt 1899 in Leicestershire.

I know he died in Portsmouth in Dec qrt 1938 aged 64 leaving a will and that he was born in Sep qrt 1874
In Knutsford Cheshire.

Any info on the above will be gratefully recieved thanks

Hi Pauline.

As you probably know, a 'reverse search' of FreeBMD throws 3 possible names up for the marriage: Constantine Brucker, Elizabeth Ann Dobson and Selina Smith.

I've tried ringing various changes of these names together with George Dodd Bracegirdle on the 1901 Census without success.

I,m looking at his probate right now...BRACEGIRDLE George Dood of 46 Devon Rd Portsmouth died 17th November 1938.Without going on to much it mentions Gladwys Fry wife of Albert..I wonder who the Fry's were?

I have found the marriage for 1899 and it has to be one of these three..

Constantine Brucker1899 Elizabeth Ann Dobson1899

Selina Smith 1899

Pauline1, Can you tell me if George had any children as it might narrow the search down and make it easier to search.. Was Gladwy's above his daughter?

I am not sure but it could have been Elizabeth??Not much to go on at the moment and I could very well be wrong here but I have tried 1901 for Selina and all I can find is one so far wife of Henry.. Can,t see anything for Constantine..

Now this is strange..For 1901 I have found a Constantin Bruker married to Selina..

Name:Constantin BruckerAge:31Estimated birth year:abt 1870Relation:HeadSpouse's name:Selina BruckerGender:MaleWhere born:Wue Serman Subject

Could this Selina be Selina Smith?

No doubt this couple had not been married for very long as they only have one child aged 1 year..

With the marriage info above I,m thinking Constantine is really Constantin. He married Selina Smith so that leaves Elizabeth Ann Dobson. Unless
I have my workings out all wrong?

Gladwys Fry was his daughter right?

The district Bucklow spans the boundaries of the counties of Cheshire and Lancashire

If you order the birth Cert Pauline1 it will confirm her Mother's name.

And here is her marriage to Fry...

Hello Pauline,

The marriage has to be to Elizabeth Ann DOBSON 1899 Barrow upon Soar Leics

#5 shows him in the 1901 census as a cabinet maker and head married to Selina, the other name on the listings

I always thought Constantine was a male name as in the xiled king of Greece!
