Catherine McCurley was born in Ireland about 1825 she moved to England around 1850
she was a needlewoman/dressmaker/tailoress
she was in Glasgow in 1861 London 1851 she married John Thomson born Orkney
Can anyone help me find where she was born and perhaps her marriage.

I can't really answer these questions with any firm knowledge
John Thomson was born in Orkney Stromness about 1818. He was 49 on 1861 census in Glasgow
Catherine was his wife by 1851 census and they were in London
I don't know whether they were married in England Scotland or Ireland
can you put up 1851 and 1861 census info because i cant seem to find them

yes thats them and then in 1851 they are in middlesex St James Clerkenwell

Hi Stellier, My guess is that Catherine was married in Ireland , as she was only about 17 when her daughter Lucy/ Lucia was born in Ireland . Yet going by the 1861c It says all children born London, England.!!!!
Also John Thomson her husband mustve died between 1866- 1871 as hes not on the 1871 c .
Most annoying as ive searched for a marraige to no avail . Maybe another member will be able to find something for you .
