hi,im new to the site,im trying to do my tree,my grandfather was edwin haycock born1869 in wroxeter,his father was james hacock born 1840 in leighton.i cant seem to back any further,i would be very grateful if anyone could help me in any way thanks

Now, bearing in mind the 1881 census where James Haycock has his place of birth as Bridgnorth, I found this 1841 census record and the registration district is Bridgnorth.

I've also found this marriage record for James. The marriage certificate will give you his father's name to confirm (or not) the above census. He married Ellen Howard. On the 1871 census, there is a son Charles Howard, so maybe Charles was illegitimate or Ellen had been married before.
