In the 1881 census it says she was an Unfortunate and lived at ,1 Grove Place London Middlesex.

Can anyone find her before 1881 or after.I have searched in vain to find her.

Do you have any thing eise we can have a Iook at for you?

Many thanks Bandit, I beleive this Katharine Norman could" belong" to me, At the same address in the 1871 census is a family recorded as Roman, but on the original it says Norman...and this family is certainly mine.
It seems such a coincidence that this lady is at this address.
My relation in the 1871 is Martin Norman a baker,he married a Julia Curtin I have this from thr parish records from the LMA.
His name altered from Numann to Norman...I think because he was German this is how it must have sounded. His father was Thomas a carman,I cant find him either...I wondered if Katharine Norman could have been his sister.

    Your help is much appreciated

    Hi
In 1871 the same Iady was in I ondon with a husband John and chiIdren - and funnIIy enough he was a a sugar baker which was the profession of some of the Iater Normans- incidenty the eidest chId was 8 so the famiIy arrived in the uk from 1863 owards as the chIdren are born in the uk whereas the parents are born in Germany. The rest is supposition

Good morning Bandit, thanks again for your reply.....could you give me the details of the 1871 census as I cant seem to find this family,I can only see 2 Normans from Germany in the 1871 census and non of these are them.
As you say Sugar Bakers were in the family,as I have found in my searching.

    Thank you.

I am puzzled Bandit !!! I thought you meant the Katharine lady was with a husban John a sugar baker in the 1871 information you gave me?
You did send me the one with Martin as head last night.
Am I misunderstanding your message, that you found Katharine in 1871 with a husband John the sugar baker with their children?

    Best regards

    Sheila
