    Default 1861 Census Lookup London

    Trying to find grt (2) grandfather Daniel Morton dob poss 1801-1806 plus wife Elizabeth dob 1806 (?) children Albert Daniel dob 1831, Theodore Alfred dob 1846 believed to have been living in Lambeth or Southwark areas of London. Realise details provided are very sketchy but would appreciate any info.

    Daniel Morton 35 - I think it says traveller
    Elizabeth Morton 35
    Albert Morton 10
    All born out of County.
    Also in the household
    William Pennington 25 traveller

    I think it must be them?

    Thank you so much for looking yes this is the Daniel I'm looking for - reason for travelling wife and son were rope walkers and were probably involved in a circus of some kind.
    The remainder of family were left in Dursley!!

    Many thanks for providing me with info re my Daniel Morton. Family are hard to track down as they are involved with entertainment and seem to change names and dates of birth. A real challenge!

    It looks as if Theodore died quite young. You may have this but in case not -
    Birth Theodore Morton June 1846 Lambeth 4 243
    Marriage March 1870 Theodore Alfred Morton to either Harriet Bellamy or Charlotte Eglintine Richards - Sheffield 9c 507
    Death Sep 1871 Theodore Morton age 25 Lambeth 1d 279

    Yes I did manage to find out about Theodore who apparently preferred to use his middle name of Alfred and did indeed marry Charlotte Eglintine Richards. Once again I'm in your debt.
