Thread: lookup please marriage cheverill-smith

hi everyone, please help im really stuck!!im trying to find a marriage for elizabeth f cheverill (could be soundex) and a mr smith,she was born 1865 i think,and had 5 children 2 boys 3girls, in 1901 census she was a widow with 5 children, then she married alfred gates in 1902. and had 2 more children,
the earliest she could marry would be 1881,so mr smith married and died between 1881and 1901, i cant find any record of either thanks for any help regards alan.

What area did she live please?

hi gillian, hampshire, wiltshire, is the nearest i can get, there 's some confusion about the spelling of her name, her children were albert,william, rose,fanny, marie,dont know if that helps regards alan.

hi i have william henry 1888,rose 1893, fanny1895, marie grace1894, ithink there was albert who was the eldest dont know his birthday regards alan.

How sure are you that she was Elizabeth F? This is the nearest I have found so far -

hi hazelnut,the 1901 record i saw had elizabeth down as a widow,and she definetly married alfred gates 1902 as my gran was alice gates 1903, im trying to find a record of mr smith her first partner, maybe they were not married hardly likely in 1890 , maybe gretna green!. you have the right family, there was another son albert could be eldest ,he emmigrated to austrailia alone about 1923,

Perhaps he died after the census was taken , at least you have a bit more info to go on,
