I'm tracing my maternal great-grand parents' family. My great grandad was John Henry Cornish (known as Jack), 1886 - abt, 1951, married to Helen Campbell Gow, 1880 - 1969. John was a coachman/groom and Helen was a Nanny. John's father was William Collicut Cornish, 1862 - 1954, and I believe they were from Tavistock in Devon. He also had a brother, Thomas, born about 1891 in Wembury. His mother was Julia Hannah Thomas, born 1865. My great-grandma, Helen, was born in Scotland and the family resided in Findhorn. Her father was Tom Gow (1844 - 1916) and her mother was Jessie Storm (1841 - 1927). She had several siblings, but the first 2 we know little about, Maggie (b. 1867) and another Helen (b. 1869) - we believe she may have died as a baby due to my grandma also then being named Helen. Her other siblings were Jessie A (b. 1870), Robert Storm (b. 1874), John McPherson (b. 1878), James William (b. 1881), Annie (b. 1883) and Sarah (b. 1885). Sarah moved to the States (married a James Cameron Watson).
If there are any long lost relatives out there (Scotland, UK or States!) then I'd love to hear from you.![]()
